Church Affiliation

Liberty Christian School was founded by Liberty Church, PCA, in 1980. The church provided significant financial support and guidance for the new school, and continues to support the school financially through the tithes of its members and the rent-free use of the school building. It’s important to note that despite our close affiliation with Liberty Church, LCS families come from nearly 90 different churches in the Baltimore community, and represent a broad range of denominations and church cultures. Liberty Christian School exists to support parents, and subsequently churches, in their endeavor to grow children in the knowledge and love of God. As such, LCS students are not required, nor are they encouraged, to change their church affiliation. In fact, LCS celebrates the diversity of our student body as one of our core values.

Liberty Christian School remains fairly autonomous in regard to most matters of administration. The School Administrator, responsible for day-to-day functions as well as executing the strategic plan and goals of the school, reports to a School Board. The Board is comprised of appointed members, many of whom are current or former parents of LCS students. The Board sets policy for the school, monitors the performance, and also sets the long-range goals for the school.
