Kindergarten at LCS starts with a loving, stimulating atmosphere. Classes incorporate sound educational curriculum with plenty of experiential play, to keep the kindergartener motivated to learn and develop.
- Class size is limited to 12 students, with one teacher and one aide per class.
- Half day or whole day: As a parent, you have a choice. The basic academic program is half-day. However, parents may choose to enroll their child in a full day program, where the child is exposed to additional play and activities that reinforce the lessons from the half-day program.
- Reading instruction: Instead of pushing reading from the beginning, kindergarteners are exposed to phonics and reading throughout the year as they become developmentally ready. This method encourages better reading skills as children move forward in school. The small class sizes and several levels of reading groups allow for reading instruction catered to each child’s readiness level.
- State-of-the-art playground: A new, multi-level playground structure awaits right outside of the kindergarten door, ensuring a wide variety of fun and excitement.
